April Run Stats, Not too shabby

So I was diddling around on facebook today, gathering up the gumption to write this post about how awesome I am at keeping my new years resolution when I stumbled upon an article posted by a friend. It was a brief timeline of The History of Women's Running so I clicked on it. Funny how on the day I was planning about patting myself on the back about how many days/miles I ran in a row and here was an article celebrating those women who make my running possible. Oh I have goose bumps. It's so weird to me to fathom that there was a time that women couldn't run races. If I want to run a race, I sign up for a race, and then I run the race. Well except Boston. As I look at my April stats, I'm proud. I ran 22/30, have my highest mile week (pathetic I know but when you're not training for anything, it's fun to just go run) at 27.88 miles, and I'm still injury free. Despite how lazy I've been this past month, I've done darn good. I guess the next time I feel too tired to lace up my shoes, I'll remind myself that those women in the article weren't too tired to break down barriers for me, the least I can do is go for a run and honor their efforts.

I had this FloJo Barbie doll. I have to say it is one of my favorite presents, to this day. Thanks Mom & Dad! (PS, I say had because my bratty 6 yr old sister broke her head off)
